Cheers on you for your optimism about the new business. (One hopes operated from home, with continued generous access to the everyday of your kids, your garden, etc.) I do hope your new pattern of life allows time for small compositions to be posted here. You're good at it.

I agree: the event was well run, everything from the parking to the toilets and provision of shade areas.

Melton is rather smaller than Avalon but it has the advantage for me of being an easy 20-minute drive. The only thing that really limits it as a venue is the lack of a sealed runway; larger aircraft and jets cannot land or take off.

The aerobatics were indeed spectacular, especially Chris Sperou hanging vertically on the prop until he was lost in the smoke. I don't know why I don't find it exciting.

Thanks for the comments on my photos. I stopped taking pictures many years ago because I'm really not good at it. It doesn't help that my wife—a portrait and wedding photographer—is tremendously talented. But I'm finding that the constraints of the iPhone work for me and I've made a few pictures that I'm really happy with.

Hi Andrew, Love your pics!
I went to the Houdini Centenary Air show as well and loved it! Thought it was a fabulous day - even my young kids loved it and didn't want to leave. Very professionally run (loved that it was clean and no queue for toilets - great forethought!) - to pull off an event like this is clearly quite a task!
Not only that - but the location was great - so much space - everywhere with a view - and we plenty of well organised shade - not sure but think this location must be bigger than Avalon? - there should be more events in this location! Loved it!
What a great day for aircraft enthusiasts - disagree on the aerobatics - - thought the aerobatics were wonderful and my little boy thought it was the highlight of the day. Thanks again for the photos!

The two small planes look so... small. Little machines a person could go up in the air in. I've not been around tiny planes, and didn't quite get that until now. Thanks for the fine pictures.
